Did you know that colour theory states that green does not pair well with bright red if you use it in high opposing quantities? This is because they are directly opposite each other on the colour wheel. Instead, we recommend utilising other red-adjacent shades, like orange, pink and purple, which each pair like a dream with Emerald. 

It’s also best to skip really bright yellows and electric cobalt blues, as it can be super difficult to pair these shades with Emerald without your space looking a little too chaotic and overwhelming. 

All that being said, we adore brave and unexpected colour combinations, so, don’t be afraid to welcome bright and contrasting shades, but steer clear from a 50:50 mix, as this helps quell any colour competition and unintentional clashing.

Letting in the natural world

Undoubtedly, Emerald green furniture feels most at home when surrounded by earthy, natural tones. Pairing this shade with textures such as rattan chairs or baskets for your throws in the living room, or lightweight linen curtains, creates a calm and breezy feel.
