This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we have taken to ensure that our businesses as well as our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking during the financial year ending 31st July 2017.
F C Brown (Steel Equipment) Ltd and its subsidiaries (F C Brown) is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking occurring in any of its corporate activities, as well as seeking to ensure that our supply chains are also free from such practices
F C Brown is a manufacturer of office and industrial furniture with its head office and manufacturing facilities based in South Wales. The products it manufactures are distributed worldwide through third party distributors and group subsidiary companies. F C Brown has two trading subsidiaries, Bisley Industrial Storage Ltd which distributes industrial storage products and Network Commercial Systems Ltd which manufactures and installs tailored made fitted and free standing furniture for schools, hospitals, laboratories, cafeterias and industrial workplaces located in the UK.
F C Brown has a turnover of approximately £60m and is part of the BISLEY Group whose parent company; Bisley Office Equipment Ltd has its head office in the UK and has a consolidated turnover of approximately £80m.
F C Brown employs solely in the UK and is managed consistently by our Human Resources department. F C Brown endeavours to provide well paid, long term secure jobs for all employees who are all paid in excess of the Living wage. Our contracts with organisations that comprise indirect employees contain clauses so we ensure they receive at least the Living wage. F C Brown is committed to ensure we provide a desirable and safe place to work where employees are valued and supported in their roles. Any concerns about slavery or human trafficking can be raised with Line Managers or with Human Resources for appropriate action.
Our Anti-slavery, CSR, Sustainability Procurement policies reflects our commitment to implementing and enforcing effective procedures and controls to minimise the risks of human trafficking and other modern slavery practices infiltrating our business operations or supply chains and to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business activities and relationships.
We ensure that our suppliers are aware of our policies and take appropriate measures to ensure that our suppliers adhere to the same high standards.
F C Brown operate an integrated management system accredited to ISO9001 and ISO14001 to ensure all company activities are planned to ensure they are carried out effectively and efficiently, while complying with company policies including those relating to anti-slavery and human trafficking. Implementations of planned activities are done in accordance with relevant procedures, standards and legislation. Key activities are monitored and evaluated to identify good practice and scope for improvement and feedback from all activities are reviewed by Senior Management with actions identified to improve company performance. F C Brown has integrated issues of modern slavery into these processes.
