Five Minutes With...Keidi Kompus

Jun 9, 2022|

In ‘Five Minutes With…’ we share the stories of our Bisley colleagues and business partners, allowing you to get to know them a little better. In this feature, we talk to Keidi Kompus, our Area Sales Manager for the Nordics and Baltics.

Tell us a little about yourself and your previous work experience?

I studied interior design in Perugia, Italy, and then began working at an architectural firm. After eight years of living in Perugia, I moved back to Estonia and started to work in the design field.

My previous role was at Borg, and I was a project manager, having worked there for three years. My responsibility was sales management, to build and develop customer relationships, preparation of price offers, placing orders, and organizing logistics, as well as concentrating on local sales and exports.

I was also responsible for communicating with customers, consulting, through to reaching a sales transaction, and then invoicing and exclusion. I gained a lot of responsibility and experience that I am now able to bring to my new role at Bisley.

Why did you want to work for Bisley?

Applying for the position of Area Sales Manager for the Nordics and Baltics was extremely exciting and a great challenge for me. I’m certainly very familiar with the Bisley brand and have always been impressed by the company.

I was also keen to gain experience in the international markets, building new relationships and understanding how different markets operate, so applying for this position was a must for me.

What are your main responsibilities in your role?

My responsibilities are the Nordic and Baltic markets, and I am currently developing Bisley´s position within these countries in order to gain greater recognition and significantly expand our network of clients.

As an international Area Sales Manager, what does a typical day look like for you?

My job requires a lot of independence and communication. I visit new and existing Bisley customers, source new contacts, and will be attending fairs and exhibitions, such as the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair in February 2023.

What do you hope to achieve within your role at Bisley?

I want Bisley to achieve a larger market share in the Nordic and Baltic countries, and I’d also like to see more Bisley logos on furniture when visiting different offices and locations.

What do you do to switch off after a day at Bisley?

After work, I like to go to the sea in the summer time or to the sky in winter time. Very often I go for a short walk with the dog, cook for my family or meet with some friends.

Workplaces have changed in recent years due to the pandemic. How do you think offices will look in the future?

Employers have the tough challenge of encouraging people back to the office after such a long time away. Workplaces really need to offer comfortable working spaces, areas for socialisation and interaction, as well as rooms where confidential conversations can occur. I believe that the home office is here to stay but also, it’s important to come into the office from time to time.

I also think it’s very important to create different zones – silence boxes, high quality chairs and tables, and personal storage are all musts for the majority of workspaces.

What is your favourite Bisley product?

I really love both Glide and Caddy. Glide with its perforated metal is so beautiful and such a different product when compared to other products we offer.

Caddy on the other hand is extremely useful and with the addition of a seat, can be comfortable too. These products are also available in a wide range of colours, meaning they can become the focus piece when placed in any space.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

When I was little girl, I loved to play shop with my parents and really wanted to be a shopkeeper.
