We’re delighted to announce that for a second consecutive year, we’ve won two Design Guild Mark awards for our Hideaway desk collection – our fourth and fifth to date.
The Design Guild Mark is awarded by The Furniture Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry, to drive excellence and to raise the profile of British design and innovation. It recognises the highest standards in the design of furnishings in volume production across three categories – Furniture, 2D Design, and Lighting Design.
Our Hideaway desk collection comprises of two desks – the Hideaway Swing desk and the Hideaway Wall desk, both of which have been awarded a Design Guild Mark this year.
Hideaway Wall desk is a modern redesign of the traditional bureau and can be folded down or away as needed. And once you’ve finished working, Hideaway’s sleek design means that your work can be tucked away at the end of you day. It’s also compatible with our Mosaic hanging accessories and is also available with light and USB charging points.
The Hideaway Swing desk is beautifully crafted and transforms from a stylish sideboard to a functional working desk, enabling you to move seamlessly between work and home without ever changing location.

Chris Fowler, Lead Designer said; “The concept for the collection came directly from personal experience. In the first months of the pandemic, I was using our living room in the day to work, then tidying everything away in the evenings so that the rest of the family could use the space again. I thought there must be plenty of households in the same position as myself, looking for a generous workspace in the day that can be neatly stowed away after work.
“In both cases, being awarded two Design Guild Mark awards for 2023 is a huge honour, not only for myself, but for all Bisley colleagues who have helped on the engineering, marketing, and manufacturing of these two successful product launches.”
