Nomura banks on Bisley storage
Japanese bank Nomura`s new landmark offices in the City of London highlight how Bisley undertakes custom product development to meet specific client needs.
Bisley supplied nearly 5,000 LateralFile units for the TTSP-designed workplace, as well as a variety of bespoke storage solutions, recycling units and more than 2,100 pedestals.
The personal storage units are based on existing units used by employees but have been refined by Bisley’s design team to ensure maximum functionality - even down to the orientation of the keyhole. The units also feature a special 75mm top drawer designed to accommodate larger personal effects and items such as phones and chargers. Meanwhile, pedestal units for traders include a custom bracket to attach them to desks.
The anthracite-coloured LateralFile storage units were supplied with a timber housing to integrate with the wider workplace design. Recycling units were designed to accommodate both general and confidential waste.
Nomura`s move to the 11 storey riverside Watermark Place designed by architects Fletcher Priest brings all employees together in a single building, occupying the entire 52,000 sq m. The building includes eco-friendly features as green roofs, rainwater harvesting and photovoltaic arrays. The project – codenamed Project Shinkyo – included major reconfiguration of the base-build to increase the amount of space available.
