History

Tony Brown, Chairman

Founded in 1931 by sheet metal worker Freddy Brown, Bisley is a thoroughly British success story. Still privately owned, and with Freddy’s son, Tony Brown as current chairman, the company has continued to lead the way in office storage innovation and has established itself as a pioneer in its field.

Key landmarks in Bisley history include the production of its first filing cabinet in 1980 and the launch of the bespoke storage solution LateralFileTM in 1995. This marked a shift in focus for the company to more project-led business, aiming new products at the dealer and interior design markets.

With more than $97 (US) million invested in manufacturing technology since 1989, Bisley offers the ultimate marriage of engineering and craftsmanship. Superior technical skills mean better quality, precision and accuracy. All of our products are hand finished, and go through a rigorous 16-point inspection process.

Today Bisley is the UK's largest manufacturer of steel storage, with an unyielding commitment to innovation and design excellence. Bisley's products are sold and specified in over 60 countries. Dealer and design support is provided through our expertly staffed showrooms in England, Ireland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, North America and the United Arab Emirates.

Architects, designers, dealers and end-users continue to specify Bisley products, reassured by its unrivalled technical capabilities and trail-blazing spirit. Bisley is often copied, but always first, thanks to superior craftsmanship and the expertise of its in-house design team.
